Are you up to the challenge of the 2011 Virgin London Marathon?

When: 17 April 2011

We are looking for Outward Bounders to take on the challenge of the 2011 Virgin London Marathon on 17th April. Running a marathon is an enormous personal achievement. Run it for The Outward Bound Trust and you have the ability to give a young person a moment in their lives that will stay with them forever, giving them self-confidence, the capacity to trust in others and realise that they are capable of achieving more than they thought possible. Without support from individuals such as yourselves, we couldn't make a difference to the lives of disadvantaged young people.

In order to apply for one of our guaranteed places you will need to download an application form and pledge to raise £1,750 for The Outward Bound Trust. Your form will then go through a selection process after which we will let you know if you have been successful or not.

Got a ballot place? Want to run for The Outward Bound Trust? We want to hear from you!

All our runners for 2011, whether they hold a golden bond place or a ballot place, will benefit from the following:

  • Full fundraising support and advice on successful ways to raise your sponsorship
  • A full training programme and e-mail coaching advice
  • Regular newsletter updates on training and fundraising
  • A convenient race day venue, where friends and family can cheer you on in the final mile and a place to relax with a well-earned massage and refreshments afterwards!
  • Support along the course, including supporters cheering you on at a pub venue
  • Outward Bound branded clothing (including running vest)
