Dates of operation: 1963 – 1994

Number of young people through its doors: approximately 51,000

Centre description:

To provide a centre exclusively for young women, The Trust purchased Rhowniar in 1963. A substantial and elegant property, it consisted of a family house and formal gardens set in 55 acres. Individual courses for young women had been organised at several of the other centres from the early 1950s. That demand grew and a separate facility was deemed the most appropriate solution. In the late 1960s Rhowniar began to offer coeducation courses. Located just 3 miles away from the Aberdovey centre it eventually merged in the 1990s.
