Centre description:
Before becoming an Outward Bound centre in 1976, this location has served as an old shooting lodge, dower house, WW2 commando training base, Christian residential centre and hotel.
Originally built for Chief of the Clan, Cameron of Loch Eil, the lodge is perfectly located for outdoor activities within its own extensive grounds on the foreshore of loch Eil near Fort William in the West Highlands of Scotland. These grounds boast some unique rope challenges, such as the parachute jump and the Tyrolean crossing. The site also has waterfront access to a community boat centre, slipway and moorings for activities in the loch and open sea. Indeed, it’s common for sea kayaking courses to be conducted over several days on both the locks and sea.
